Overview of Dota Pro Circuit
Valve has introduced Dota Pro Circuit to create a transparent tournament format system.
Dota Pro Circuit is divided into tournaments, including open qualifiers, closed qualifiers, regional league Division I & Division II, Majors, and The International. Each of these tournaments is connected to the others.
Open Qualifier:

- The top 2 teams from open qualifiers advance through the closed qualifiers.

The teams with top placement in Division I get to play major. There are at least two slots for each region.

The International:
After the end of three tours, the Top 12 teams determined by DPC points get direct Invite to The International.
Rest Six slots are filled with regional qualifiers, with one team from each region playing The International.

The Lima Major 2023

- Dates: February 22- March 5
- Total prize pool: $500,000 with 1900 DPC Points
- Participating teams: 18
The Lima Major 2023 is the first major of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit season. It will take place in Lima, Peru, on February 22, 2023. It is going to be the first ever South American DPC major. Eighteen teams from China, Western Europe, Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, North America, and South America will go up against each other.
The tournament format is divided into the group stage and playoffs. Eighteen teams are divided into two groups. After the single round-robin stage, the top four teams from each group will advance to the upper bracket of playoffs. 5th and 6th place teams from these two groups join the lower bracket of the playoffs. Rest teams will be eliminated.
With the double-elimination bracket, two teams will advance in the best-of-five series through the finals.
The tournament offers a total prize pool of $500,000 and 1,900 DPC points. The winning team will get $200,000 and 400 DPC points. The runner-up will get $100,000 and 350 DPC points. The rest will be divided into teams according to their position.
The Berlin Major 2023
- Venue: Berlin
- Dates: April 28- May 7
- Total prize pool: $500,000 and 2,700 points
- Participating teams: 18
The Berlin Major 2023 will take place in Berlin, Germany, on April 28, 2023. Eighteen teams from across the world will participate in this tournament. The tournament has two parts group stages and playoffs. From the two groups of 9 units, after the group stage matches, the top four teams will join the upper bracket of playoffs.
5th and 6th place teams from each group will join the lower bracket of the playoffs. The rest of the teams will be eliminated. With the double-elimination bracket, two teams will advance through the finals.
This tournament has a total prize pool of $500,000 and 2,700 points. The winning team will get $200,000 and DPC points. The 2nd place team will get $100,000 and DPC points.
The Bali Major 2023
- Venue: Bali
- Dates: June 30- July 9
- Total prize pool: $500,000 and 3,500 DPC points
- Participating teams: 18
The third major of 2023 will be held in Bali, Indonesia. The tournament will be held from June 30 to July 19, 2023. Eighteen teams from different regions will be joining this tournament. The format of The Bali Major 2023 is similar to other majors. Like Major tournaments, the tournament is divided into group stages and playoffs.
Nine teams from each group will play group-stage matches. The top four teams from each group will reach the upper bracket playoffs, and the 5th and 6th teams will advance to the lower bracket of playoffs. Rest teams will be eliminated. With a double-elimination bracket, two teams will join the finals and play the series of best of 5.
The tournament offers a prize pool of $500,000 and 3,500 DPC points. The winner will get $200,000; the runner-up team will get $100,000. DPC points will be divided according to the position.
The International 2023
- Venue: Seattle
- Dates: October 15 (may vary)
- Total prize pool: $1,600,000
- Participating teams: 18
The International is one of the biggest annual tournaments in esports. The tournament will be held in Seattle. The invite format of the Dota 2 The International is similar to the previous editions. At the end of 3rd major, the top twelve teams by DPC points will be invited directly to The International 2023.
Rest six remaining spots will be decided through regional qualifiers, one team each from South America, North America, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and China.
The teams will be divided into two groups. After the round-robin, the Top four teams from each group will advance to the upper bracket of the main event. 5th to 8th place teams from each group will join the lower bracket. Rest teams will be eliminated.
Sixteen teams will play double-elimination bracket. The initial tournament prize pool will be $1,600,000. The distribution of the prize money is yet to be announced.
