How it all started for Miracle- ?

Miracle-‘s journey as a professional player traces back to his youth when he was a passionate gamer. Everything started in an Internet Cafe in his home country. He joined Balkan Bears in early 2015. This was a short-lived association of just four months as he was soon removed from the team.

During his time without a team, Amer Al-Barkawi started to make a name for himself in the European gaming community by dominating the matchmaking rating leaderboards in various public matches. Gradually, he reached the top position, securing the #1 rank in MMR not only within the European division but also worldwide, outshining w33.

Once Miracle- claimed the top spot in MMR rankings Johan “N0tail” Sundstein offered him a spot at the freshly built Monkey Business, and he quickly agreed to join. This team emerged after the reshuffling post The International 2015 and aimed to compete in the upcoming Majors. Eventually, with sponsorship, the team transformed into OG.

OG, a competitive DOTA 2 team, did surprisingly well and won their first big tournament called the Frankfurt Major. It was a surprise because they beat stronger teams. Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi played tremendously well as Shadow Fiend in the event. Because he was so good, other teams started to respect ban the hero.

After this success, they won more tournaments in the middle of 2016 under OG. Amer “Miracle-” Al-Bakawi with OG did great in DreamLeague Season 5 and ESL Frankfurt 2016. The team also won another big tournament called the Manila Major.

Even though OG was expected to perform well in The International 2016, a huge tournament, they got knocked out early. They lost to TnC Gaming in a lower bracket match, which came as a big surprise and a significant moment in Dota 2 history.

His Tenure with Team Liquid

Following the loss in The International 2016, Miracle- left OG and joined Team Liquid. This happened after FATA- took a break from playing professional Dota. In the beginning, things weren’t going so well for Amer and his new team. They couldn’t qualify for a big tournament called the Boston Major. His friend GH joined the team in early 2017.

GH aided the team to win a previous tournament called DreamLeague. With GH on board, Team Liquid started climbing their way to the top in competitive Dota 2 again. Together, Amer Al-Bakawi won many important tournaments in 2017 like StarSeries Season 3, StarLadder i-League Invitational #2, EPICENTER, and DreamLeague Season 7.

The International 2017 was too close, and once again, Miracle-‘s team was to be the favorite at that time, they were expected to win. OG played with a winning spirit in the group stage and conquered a spot in the upper bracket of the tournament. However, they missed out on the playoffs and were sent right back to the lower bracket.

After a defeat by a small margin to team Invictus Gaming. Teams like Victories of Secret, LGD Gaming, Team Empire, Virtus.pro, and LGD Forever Young booked them a position in the TI7 grand final. This time, they didn’t make any mistakes. They played to win against Newbee, becoming the champions of the tournament with a score of 3-0.

After being with Team Liquid for three years he said his goodbyes. Amer “Miracle-” Al-Bakawi with his teammates formed a new DOTA 2 team known as Nigma.

Following his departure from Team Liquid, Miracle- and his teammates came together to create their team, Nigma, which later became known as Nigma Galaxy. His journey with Nigma Galaxy had its share of ups and downs. Despite the difficulties, Amer remained a strong player in the DOTA 2 world.

The constant whirlwind of professional esports gradually led Amer “Miracle-” Al-Bakawi to announce a hiatus from DOTA 2 in 2023, marking the end of a significant era. Miracle- hasn’t been playing since December 2022, missing out on a major part of Nigma’s participation in DPC 2023. But his role in helping Nigma secure a Division 1 spot.

Since his absence, Nigma’s performance has taken a hit. In the first DPC 2023 Tour for Western Europe, Nigma barely avoided dropping to a lower division, finishing in sixth place. The second Tour was even worse and led to Nigma being seen as not as strong as their rivals in Western Europe.

But now, Miracle-, who was one of the original members of Nigma Galaxy and a core part of the team’s first lineup, is back to support his struggling teammates and gain their glory. Amer Al-Bakawi’s return is a significant moment in Nigma’s journey in the Dota Pro Circuit 2023 (DPC 2023), but it might be happening a bit late for the team that used to be champions.
