a. Plot
This single-player title is set in the World of Sanctuary. Diablo IV follows the consequences of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. According to the game’s storyline, Cultists have summoned the main antagonist and Mephisto’s daughter, Lilith. After the multiple events of previous titles, the forces of Angels and Demons have been depleted, allowing Lilith to establish her power in the Sanctuary.
The rogue angels Inaurious and Lilith created the realm of Sanctuary to provide shelter to those who wanted to escape from the eternal conflict between High Heavens and The Burning Hell. It gave birth to Nephalem, a race that is not angel or demon but more powerful than both.
